Indiana Farmed Animal Rescue, Education, and Outreach Fund Grants

The purpose of this fund is to provide support for education and outreach efforts conducted by Indiana-based farmed animal rescue programs and centers. Grants may be awarded to exempt organizations to support educational and outreach opportunities about rescuing animals from food systems. Grants may not be awarded for general operations.

Request for grants will be accepted on a rolling basis. The Community Foundation will consider potential grantees in accordance with the following process for selection:

  • Requests for funds must be completed and submitted by an organization that qualifies as exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. This may include nonprofit farmed animal rescues, school systems, or other similar organizations seeking to educate the public about farmed animal rescue.
  • Eligible expenses may include, but are not limited to, programmatic expenses for education or outreach, supplies, transportation, technology relevant to outreach education, etc.
  • Awards may be made for up to $5,000 per organization in a 12-month period.
  • Participating rescue programs must not breed animals nor sell/distribute animal products.
  • Participating programs must provide rescue/sanctuary for previously farmed animals.
  • Applicants must affirm that their mission and practice explicitly oppose animal exploitation, farming, breeding, or animals for sale or profit.
