
The Community Foundation offers several types of competitive granting. These initiatives are funded through unrestricted funds at the Community Foundation, collaborative funding from regional partners, and designated funds established by donors to support particular areas of focus.
Dance & Movement Grant Initiative
Through the Dance & Movement Grant Initiative, funded by the Marina Svetlova Fund for Dance, the Foundation supports community-based, non-profit programs and organizations that promote the art of dance in various forms. Priority is given to programs that support ballet or contemporary dance, as well as those that provide dance or movement opportunities, especially for youth, seniors, or persons with disabilities. Community Impact Funding Initiative
The Community Foundation invests in projects and programs that address the core issues facing our community or enable Monroe County to take advantage of its most compelling opportunities. Given our focus on the long-term success of Monroe County, the Community Impact Funding Initiative supports programs or projects that offer the potential for lasting change. Grants are judged on several criteria and are expected to focus on solutions rather than symptoms. Innovation, collaboration, and sustainability are the highest priorities in grant evaluation. Precision Health Network Grants
Precision Health Network Fund grants assist with the development or enhancement of community health education and health outcomes. In addition to Monroe County, Brown, Daviess, Greene, Lawrence, Martin, Morgan, Orange, and Owen counties are eligible to apply for Precision Health Network Fund grants. Learn More »
Never Lose Hoop Grants
The Never Lose Hoop Fund was established by JC and Joni Hulls to support children affected by cancer, specifically by providing grants for shared family experiences that will improve the quality of life and happiness of children and their families. The grants are for families dealing with a current cancer diagnosis or treatment, or those who have experienced the death of an immediate family member to cancer within the last two years. Flick Emergency Medical Fund Grants
The Flick Emergency Medical Fund was established by Kevin and Mindy Flick to support families and individuals facing hardship due to a medical emergency or crisis. Grants from this fund specifically help relieve the financial burden of medical or living expenses for these families or individuals. Learn More »
Indiana Farmed Animal Rescue, Education, and Outreach Fund Grants
The purpose of this fund is to provide support for education and outreach efforts conducted by Indiana-based farmed animal rescue programs and centers. Grants may be awarded to exempt organizations to support educational and outreach opportunities about rescuing animals from food systems. Grants may not be awarded for general operations. Cycle of Food Fund Grants
The purpose of the fund shall be to support and accelerate organizations’ efforts to eliminate food waste in order to address climate change and advance a more sustainable and equitable food life cycle from production to soil regeneration. Learn More »
